OUR PROGRAMS
:


Elmhurst Eagles Cheer is a recreational sport that does not require try-outs or evaluations to be placed on any of our teams. However, we do offer different programs so that everyone can experience the sport at a cost and commitment level they are comfortable with. The following programs are outlined below:

Half Season Mini-Cheer is for our 1st and 2nd graders. They will practice 2-3 hours a week and support our flag football players on the home game sidelines. The season begins in August and ends in mid-October. Mini-Cheer is $199.

Sideline Cheer is for 3rd through 8th grade and just like mini-cheer, they will practice 2-3 hours per week and support our football teams on the sidelines. They will cheer the full season, perform choreographed half-time routines, cheer Super Bowl and Pep Rally and learn basic stunting. Sideline Cheer is $249.

Competition Cheer is for 3rd through 8th grade athletes who would like to experience the full sport of cheer. Tumbling, stunting, jumps, motions and dance are all put into a professionally choreographed routine that is performed at several competitions throughout the season. Competition cheerleaders also cheer at a minimum of 4 football games and/or perform community service. These teams commit to practicing 4-8 hours per week. Competition Cheer is $499, not including the cost of uniforms. 

PRACTICE:
Practices take place at Berens Park at the start of the season then we move indoors to York HS once school starts. The season begins at the end of July. Competition cheer will practice Monday through Thursday from 5:30-7:30 PM. Mini cheer and sideline cheer will practice 2 days a week on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30-7:00. Once school starts, we will drop Wednesday practice and move indoors to York HS. All practices at York start at 6:30.

CHOREOGRAPHY:
Choreography for all competition teams will be the week of August 10th. Choreography is mandatory and missing any days will put your athlete and the team at a serious disadvantage. Please schedule your summer vacations accordingly.

FOOTBALL GAMES:
All teams will cheer HOME games only at Berens Park one weekend day during the season. The football schedule is released in August. The first game is usually on Labor Day weekend.

1st and 2nd Grade Mini: Mini Cheer will cheer for 4 flag football games during the months of September and October. 
3rd - 8th Grade Sideline: Sideline cheerleaders will cheer the full season of football games, playoff games and Super Bowl. They will perform halftime at each game they cheer for.
3rd - 8th grade competition: Competition cheer will cheer a minimum of 4 football games and/or perform community service.

HOMECOMING:
Some squads may cheer more than one game during Homecoming Weekend in October.  There is also a pep rally performance at Berens Park during the Homecoming Pep Rally on a Thursday evening. All squads perform their halftime or competition routines during the pep rally. Attendance at Pep Rally is mandatory and will take the place of practice that evening.

COMPETITIONS:
3rd - 8th grade competition teams will perform at several competitions throughout the season, in addition to the IRCA State competition in December if their team qualifies. All competitions are local and do not require extensive travel. Attendance at all competitions is mandatory, without exception. The competition schedule is released in April.

UNIFORMS:
All cheerleaders will receive an Eagles Cheer warm up jacket included in the cost of the program!

1st - 8th Grade Mini & Sideline Cheer:  Uniforms and bows are provided for all Mini and Sideline Cheerleaders. White cheer shoes and black spanks must be provided by the parents. There may be additional (minor) uniform requirements throughout the season.

3rd - 8th Grade Competition Cheer: Uniform and cheer shoes are not included in the Competition Cheer program and must be purchased by the parents. Shoes are $61. Uniforms are $184 for 3rd - 5th grade and $265 for 6th - 8th grade. Fundraising options are available. Competition bow will be provided. 

Uniform and Shoe Fittings: It is mandatory to attend one of the fittings at our in-person registration events. Dates for our fittings are as follows:
Grades 1-2 Mini and 3-8 Sideline Cheer: March 11
Grades 3-8 Competition Cheer: April 15
Makeup fitting date: April 29
